"When the stars go blue"

However impossible it may seem to know that there are somethings that are still sacred, and the heart's always scared of spoiling things, people and their spirits.

Lately, the pursuit of love - so synonymous with happiness - has become that. A fearful path. It is a fearful one because there's always a question.. a possibility what would happen if things went bad and what all things would be at stake when the destruction (that seems alarmingly possible) happen. It will become a catalyst to destroy a spirit - a yearning to do better and be better in life, because that is what the ultimate purpose is: to rise. Just, simply, rise.

We have often heard as much that life is a journey where we are supposed to make mistakes - and learn from them and try never to repeat them. If falling in love is a mistake, how does one avoid it? Why is this path the most difficult to walk?

The thing is, we can make mistakes in finding love... not look in the right places- but how in the world are we to know which place is right? They say the heart will guide us, but what happens when you start living so much in fear that you overpower your heart. Translate opportunities into threats. Risks, that will destroy other people's lives, emotions, perspectives, spirit if you were wrong.

That is a huge responsibility. I think it's a part of one's integrity, then, to be hated, or worse, to be misunderstood. You're just doing the world a favor.

The (anti) iPhone Dream

Okay, so this is way before I became besotted with a BlackBerry, so offence to no one in particular. Generally...? May be. It's basically a self-derogatory dream, if anything.

So I am at a U2 concert in my city. Now that's surprising enough (yes, my dreams surprise me, to say the least) because as much as I love (and I really love) U2, I haven't really wanted to go to their concert. I guess it kills the whole "personal" space that one enjoys with the artist's creation. You're more likely to connect at a deeply personal level with a certain artist when you're heartbroken, staring at a sunset or jogging alone at 4 AM rather than scream and shout in a concert or steal some memento backstage of your favourite artist or their Managers. So no such desires for me to really attend a concert... but in my dream, I am there, all right.

And suddenly am standing in a long queue. Adam Clayton (now I had to practically Google him out to really know he was the one; blogging is a big responsibility) is personally signing autographs, memorabilia, souvenirs, under garments, etc. and I am in that queue. Apparently lost, because in my waking life I'd never stand in a queue for a celebrity. Part vanity, part boredom, I guess.  So it's my turn... and he sees me and says, "So! It's you... You're a real big fan."

Real big fan? You kidding me?? I LOVE YOU GUYS! I know all of your songs by heart and the history behind each of them! I first heard you a decade back and I never get tired of listening to you guys. I've listened to each song like a thousand times! I would love to go to dinner with you guys, or just Bono and Jackie Chan and Denzel Washington, or all of you at once! Awesome videos! Loved the way that airplane went over you guys and you were just jammin' like there's no tomorrow in the 'Beautiful Day' video. That was so cool! You guys are so dedicated to your craft. I love you guys! And I say, "Yes, I am."

He pulls out his swanky iPhone and places it in my hand. "Punch in your number," he says.

I take a nice long look at the iPhone.................. and give it back to him. "Nevermind."

Note from the author: This dream really disturbed me.

Cherished Dream or a Soul's Secret?

The Drive

What if the dream was a memory?
A memory of a soul, who has come so far.
What if the cherished, ethereal dream was actually a memory stored in the deepest and mysterious recesses of the mind? A secret lesson of the soul? Something that the soul had picked up from a previous journey, not limited by time... only limited by consciousness.

Sometimes I think that instead of the soul journeying and finding its meaning and purpose, it's us who discover the secrets of our soul. I believe we spend time wondering what our soul is all about. What does it want us to see, to realise, to re-discover.

People say we have all the answers. Enlightened people say that divinity is within us, engraved to the core. But consciousness blocks it. May be in the real world, we only need a good apartment, attractive partner and a modern car. But our soul reminds us there's something else. There will always be something else. Some secret... a lesson learnt back in time... a memory cherished so badly that it becomes a dream. And we wait for it to be fulfilled.

Till one day you understand that the perfect dream already happened.
